The Sree Narayana Mandira Samiti should make efforts to provide better education to common people at affordable rates, Panvel mayor Kavita Chavatmol said. She was the chief guest at the inauguration of the Sreenarayana Guru International School here.
The samiti follows the vision of social reformer Sree Narayana Guru who was in the forefront to impart education and knowledge to common people.
The mayor added that she was happy to know that SMS was vigilant in spreading the vision of Narayana Guru. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Babasaheb Ambedkar were the strength of Guru’s work in the State.
Sivagiri Dharmasangham Trust treasurer Swami Shardananda, One World Communion president Swami Muktananda Yati, Deepak Kesarkar, MLA, APMC director Rajan Patil, Senior Inspector Ra jendra Patil and SNMS office-bearers NS Sasidharan, MI Damodaran, M Mohandas, NS Salim Kumar and school principal Bindu Viswanathan addressed the gathering. Mumbai municipal corporator TM Jagadeesh, KS Bahuleyan, Pradeep Dor, Prashant Patil Va sudevan Sahni, Rajesh Jaddade and Bindu were honoured at the function.
The event also featured art performances by SNGS students and members from various units of the samiti.
