The Special Task Force of Odisha Police rescued a pangolin and arrested one person on charge of trading the wildlife, an officer said.

Based on reliable information, a team of STF conducted a raid with the help of Bolangir Forest Officials near Baragoan Chhaka under Deogoan Police Station on Wednesday and rescued the pangolin.

The police arrested one person and handed him over to Bolangir Forest Officials.


The Pangolin was also handed over to Divisional Forest Officer Bolangir for safe custody.

The STF has seized 25 leopard skin, 13 elephant tusks, 7 deer skin, 10 live pangolins and more than 16 kg pangolin scales and arrested as many as 56 wildlife criminals since 2020, the police said.
