Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has confirmed his participation for the 10th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit that will be held in Gandhinagar from January 10 to 12, a source privy to the development said. Mishustin will lead a delegation of about 50 people from his country, including governors of states and industrialists.
The Russian delegation will participate in the round table conference on the first day.Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to chair the round table conference. At the round table, Russia is expected to announce investments in mineral resources, a senior official said.
Four governors of Far East provinces of Russia will be part of the delegation which is expected to be present on all three days.
The official said that the summit will enhance collaboration in trade and commerce between the two countries.
Meanwhile, the PM held a video conference with top officials of the state regarding preparations for the summit. CM Bhupendra Patel also attended the meeting in which the PM was apprised about various partner countries and the proposed programmes.
PM likely to open VGGS: PM Modi is likely to inaugurate VGGS beginning on Jan 10. Modi will then chair a round table conference, which will be attended by delegates of partner countries. Modi is expected to visit the GIFT city before leaving for Delhi.
