A day after India reached the historic milestone of immunizing over 100 crore people, Prime Minister Narendra Modi thanked the entire nation for making the massive COVID-19 vaccination program a “super success”.

PM Narendra Modi during his address to the nation said that, “On October 21, India met the target of 1 billion COVID-19 vaccinations. This achievement belongs to every person of the country. I congratulate every citizen for this achievement. PM Modi on achieving 100 crore vaccinations in India said, “100 crore vaccinations is not just a number, it is the beginning of a new chapter in the history of India. 100 crore vaccinations is not just a number, it is a part of history. A new chapter, a testament that India can successfully achieve the difficult goal. It shows that the country works hard to achieve its goals.

Addressing the nation, PM Modi said, “Our country has succeeded in its COVID campaign as 130 crore citizens are behind it. ‘This is his success. I congratulate everyone.”

Sharing India’s vaccine journey and its fight to contain the COVID-19 pandemic, the PM said, “There were apprehensions about our vaccination programme. It was also being said about India that how discipline would work here. The PM said that India’s vaccine campaign is a living example of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas’.

The PM said that the government has ensured that VIP culture does not dominate the country’s mass vaccination program and everyone is treated equally. He said that there is only one mantra of the country that if the disease does not discriminate, then there can be no discrimination in vaccination. “So it was ensured that VIP culture is not allowed,” he added.
