Owners of Pomeranian dog Abby threw a lavish party spending lakhs of rupees on his birthday on Friday. They booked a party plot and got an orchestra to play live music, invited 100 people for dinner and cut a cake for their pet Abby. But the family hadn’t taken permission to hold the event, and so cops came knocking and filed a complaint against them.

A Nikol police team on patrolling duty got a tip off that a lavish party was being hosted by one Chirag Patel at Madhuvan party plot in Nikol to celebrate his pet dog as he turned two. The police team reached the spot and found that Covid guidelines were being brazenly violated – there was no social distance and few had worn masks.

A video of the party also surfaced which showed people gathered around an orchestra group playing garba tunes while money was being showered on the singer.

Police book Chirag Patel (24), his brother Urvish (19) and another person Divyesh Maheriya (35) under IPC and the epidemic disease Act. They were arrested and later released on bail. Nikol PI VD Zala said more than a 100 people had gathered without permission for the event.
